Mouse & Rat Restraints
CODA® Monitor Animal Holders
Clear animal holders with black nose cones are ideal for animal research because they allow the researcher to constantly observe the animal’s behavior. A trained rat or mouse can comfortably and quietly remain in our holder for several hours.
A stand is included with each animal holder.
For use with CODA® Monitor
Holder fit may vary amongst strains and individual animals. Weights are an approximation. Contact us for help determining the best fit for your animals.
Elizabethan Collars
Elizabethan collars are very useful in preventing self-inflicted wounds, dislodgment of implants, and protecting the surgical field. Collars are comfortable without harsh restraint, allowing eating, drinking, sleeping and movement.
Mouse and rat collars have hook and loop closure, while the larger collars have a snap closure.
Flat Bottom Rodent Holders
Our low-cost, high-quality economy line of rodent holders is very useful for procedures requiring access to the tail, such as when performing simple injections and blood sampling.
To use, remove the tailgate and position the restrainer so the open end makes a 45° angle with the tabletop. Secure the rodent by the base of the tail and gently guide into the restrainer, forelimbs first. Apply gentle pressure to prevent the rodent from backing out of the restrainer. Once positioned, replace the tailgate into the groove to hold the animal in place.
