Kent Scientific Art Contest: “Scientific Symphonies: The 3RS in Harmony”

This art contest is open to all Kent Scientific customers and researchers in the US & Canada. Artwork should creatively capture the essence of “Scientific Symphonies: The 3Rs in Harmony,” showcasing how the principles of Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement are harmonized in scientific research.

Artwork Specifications:

  • Original works in mediums that can be easily transferred to digital format. This includes painting, drawing, photography, and digital art.
  • Excluded mediums: sculptures, ceramics, textiles, and installations.
  • It is recommended that the physical artwork should not exceed 24"x36" to facilitate ease of digital conversion and handling.

Submission Process:

Submit entries via Egnyte by uploading the digital file and filling out the submission form provided on the contest website. Participants may submit up to two artworks. Each entry must be accompanied by a separate submission form.

Submissions must be in digital format (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, GIF, SVG) with a maximum file size of 5 MB.

The final day for submissions is September 15th, 2024.

Selection Process & Notification of Winners:

A panel consisting of artists, scientists, and Kent Scientific officials will judge entries based on creativity, thematic relevance, and artistic quality / technical execution. The decision process will be transparent and detailed on our website.

Winners will be notified via email and announced on our website and social media channels by October 1st, 2024.

Prizes and Recognition:

  • 1st Prize: The original art piece is donated to Meharry Medical College, and a $500 donation is made in the winner’s name. $500 cash prize.
  • 2nd Prize: $300
  • 3rd Prize: $200


Selected entries will be featured in an online exhibition on our website. Details regarding a potential physical exhibition will be announced later.

Artwork Ownership and Rights:

Participants retain ownership of their artwork. However, by submitting, participants grant the organizers non-exclusive rights to use the artwork for promotional activities related to the contest, without compensation.

Consent and Release:

By participating in this contest, entrants consent to the use of their submitted artwork and personal information (name, likeness) by Kent Scientific for promotional, advertising, or any other purposes related to the contest, without compensation, except where prohibited by law. Entrants confirm that their submission is original, they hold all necessary rights to the artwork, and agree to the potential donation of their piece if selected as the winner, as outlined in the contest rules.
