The CODA™ mouse rat tail-cuff system was designed to allow you to accurately measure mouse blood pressure and rat blood pressure. The CODA tail-cuff blood pressure system utilizes Volume Pressure Recording (VPR) sensor technology to measure the mouse or rat tail blood pressure.
VPR recording is clinically validated and provides 99% correlation with telemetry and direct blood pressure measurements. Only our VPR technology is based on mouse and rat tail blood volume and can actually measure the diastolic blood pressure. All other tail-cuff technologies estimate (calculate) the diastolic blood pressure in mice and rats.

The software allows you to continuously view data in real-time. Click here to see examples of blood pressure readings. Archiving and exporting mouse blood pressure and rat blood pressure information is simple and easy. You are able to set parameters that will automatically accept or reject rodent tail-cuff blood pressure readings, which dramatically reduces the amount of user intervention and keeps only valid readings.
The animal nose cone holders that accompany the CODA NIBP system were specifically designed for non-invasive tail blood pressure measurements. The clear acrylic holders provide unrestricted breathing and allow complete visibility to the researcher.
The VPR sensor incorporates a specially designed differential pressure transducer that measures the systolic and diastolic blood pressure by determining the blood volume in the tail. We have sizes for mice as small as 8 grams to rats as large as 950 grams.
